I’ll be recapping my top six highlights of the week, and if you wish to add to any of it COMMENT!

Wizard Rock: Through out the whole week SpinnersCast’s favorite tunes were played live through out the hallways of the convention hall, and the atmosphere was contagious. With the music being divided into three different genres: Classic, Pub night and Comedy Slam. All of the bands featured there had in some way or another been on our show, wether it be an interview or us playing their music- it was fun to see that bands which we had enjoyed since the very beginning now available to the 2,400 attendees of this amazing con.

A Very Potter Sequel: If you haven’t watched the first Starkids on YouTube “A Very Potter Musical” then you need to go out and watch it as soon as you’re done with this post! These incredible actors were able to transform  the attention span of a goldfish, that I own, and glue it onto a screen for about three hours as I watched, laughed and cried. Alright, I didn’t really ‘cry’ but, nothing else really fit in there, so I just added it. The comedy takes from several book of the series and turns them into one hilarious play, which was beautifully directed, acted and best of all: filmed. The whole sequel is scheduled to debut on the 22nd of this month on YouTube, of course, for more information though check out their site!

The Final Battle: Lena Gabrielle’s masterpiece hit the stage. With a giant cast, full orchestra pit and actors and musicians who had never met each other till in person till three days before the performance. This incredibly feat that Lena and Mallory took under their wings to produce, direct, conduct and create a two hour long musical became such a success that before the final bow the audience was on their feet reaching for the moon as they applauded the 75 people who put this incredibly show together. From the hilarity of Ron and Hermione making out, to the very heartbreaking scene of Harry walking into the forest with his loved ones. Lena and Mallory captured the images that fans had envisioned for years, and I can say that they have given us high expectations for when Warner Brothers released the second part of Deathly Hallows. If a couple of actors that only means of rehearsing have been over the Internet, and just met each other three days before curtain call were able to bring several friends to tears, then WB your bar has been raised. Lena and Mallory, I love you girls, and helping out with the little that I did during your incredible performance has been an honor. I know Quinn would agree in saying: you both make us proud to be Potter fans.

Wizarding World of Harry Potter: I’ve been there before. Heck I work there. So for me it wasn’t much of anything, except having to wait in long lines for things like: food, merchandise and seeing Quinn get chosen by Ollivander’s assistant for his new wand. That’s right, Quinn got chosen of the group of 25 in the room. He, to say the least, was quite excited. For Night of a Thousand Wizards I spent the whole time with Kim Newsome, our old producer and great friend, and of course Quinn. We went straight home: Hogwarts. There was a giant line to even get into the castle, and of course me knowing where to go, took us the better way that no one decided to head- and got us three onto the ride right away. Before we got onto the ride I had to walk Kim and Quinn onto the ride, this took quite a bit. They kept stopping and looking at everything! Thank goodness we didn’t have a camera or we would not of moved since they might have just snapped a picture of every inch of that castle. Yet, I showed them around the castle. The moving book in Dumbledore’s office, Godric’s sword, the first head master of Hogwarts, the trio, told them little hidden secrets that are not easily caught by fans and so on. It was great finally being able to share these secrets with my favorite two people in the fandom, and see as their faces reacted to moving portraits, and everything we encountered on our way up to the loading platform of Journey. Then we got strapped onto the ride, I sat all the way left and let Kim and Quinn sit middle. Least I could do, right? The ride was AMAZING, they both loved! We even had a minor stop in the middle of our first ride through. I was VERY excited about that part, since it had never happened to me- Quinn and Kim weren’t as content. Oh, well we got off and then went on it again. Then Quinn purchased the ride picture- it came out AMAZINGLY! (Picture will be up soon, I promise). Then we went out and enjoyed some FREE food, enjoyed a bit of Muggle music as a local DJ kept up the tunes of the greatest hits pretty much. Then Journey came on, and we went wild. You can’t have a bunch of geeks around, and not have them dance to the musical masterpiece that “Don’t Stop Believin’” is. The crowd outside of the three-broomsticks knows exactly what I’m referring to. We danced, we jumped we hugged and best of all laughed as if this was our own senior prom where our last song played. It was truly magic. Like Professor Dumbledore says “music. A magic beyond all we do here!”. Then we went into the shops, Quinn and Kim mailed some letter home and we just sat and enjoyed the whole experience. It was probably the best night.

PodCast: I could never leave our passion out of this list. We’re podcasters so anytime that we are able to get infront of a microphone and talk about anything- we love it. This time it was no different, specially since we had our great friends from AlleyCast there! Jenn and Megs joined us as we talked all things Potter, the con and of course: the theme park. They had a particular great time questioning me on about WWoHP, since I’m still not allowed to give any information on the ride and things, they just kept egging it on. It was a blast, my only regret is we didn’t get the show recorded- so you won’t be hearing it any time soon. Just trust me on this: it was great!

Friends: Every convention that we attend, we’re very excited to meet new friends and reunite with old ones. I can say that this convention, which had the highest attendance for an HP-Con that I can remember. At least it was the biggest HPEF has ever put together. It meant that not only were there many of our friends present, that also we made great new friends! These cons have really become about meeting those Internet friendships that have been made for years. Its all about remembering each others screen names, then names and finally faces. Technology has brought us closer to each other, even if the other individual lives in Pasadena, California, and the other in Orlando, Florida. This is really the heart of Infinitus. Seeing many new faces, reuniting with old friendships and strengthening current ones.

This was Infinitus, to me. I loved it. I had a great time spending the little time I did with Quinn and walking around City Walk with Kim as we took our adventures deciding on which restaurant to dine in. Best of all, spending time the three of us. Just laughing in our room. Or simply sitting there watching the other rant, describe and enjoy the convention. I have made great friends with this fandom. I don’t want anyone to move on, because when people move- sometimes things get forgotten. So, let us all embark on a mission to return to Orlando next year! Begin planning people, start booking flights, begin saving and of course- lets keep in contact.

Harry Potter fans are flying into my, Juan’s, city from all over the world to welcome to our lives Hogwarts. We’re going to have a giant three day party where meet-ups, concerts, panels, lessons and arts-and-craft will be taking place. A conference has arrived, and we’re all very excited.

Tomorrow’s plans: Get up bright and early to help up Lena and Mallory with some instruments that they’re borrowing from my old High School for her AWESOME performance of The Final Battle. Then we’ll be arriving at our hotel where we’ll meet up with some friends to unpack and get settled in. POOL! Then Juan has to go to class (BORING!) while Quinn heads over to rehearse for Lena’s show. Then, once Juan gets back, there will be lots of hugging and meet-ups as our friends arrive- till the night comes when we will both make the trip to the airport to pick up Kim Newsome. =D Can’t wait to see her.

It shows Hogwarts in the background in pure runes, smoke oozing every angle, and fire warming up the ancient rock that held the ancient school together.
I am in love with this poster, enough to possible ‘borrow’ one from my local movie theater. More on that later.

First, the book series transformed a then unknown single mother into the richest woman in the United Kingdom. Then it transformed the silver screen into six of the highest grossing films of all time. Now, Harry Potter is taking over Universal Studios Islands of Adventure theme park in Orlando, Florida.

At The Wizarding World Of Harry Potter, fans will be able to stroll though Hogsmeade, get a drink at The Three Broomsticks, ride on Dragons, stroll through Hogwarts Castle, and now even listen to Harry Potter themed radio shows. Warner Bros and Universal Studios have commissioned several young Harry Potter podcasters to join them in bringing Hogwarts Radio to life. These four-hour long segments will be broadcast live to park goers while they are in the park.

Warner Bros had their pick of several podcasts in the Harry Potter realm, one of the lucky candidates, Quinn Rossi spoke about the selection process. “It was kind of a long process… Warner had contacted me about our podcast, SpinnersCast, around the start of the year and we have been sending in clips and doing various interviews with them ever since.”

Once Warner had finalized the selection of young hosts- including PotterCast’s Melissa Anelli, MuggleCast’s Andrew Sims, and SpinnersCast’s Rossi and Juan L. – it was then a matter of getting approval from JK Rowling herself.

“Talking to Jo was one of the most intimidating experiences of my life” says Juan. “She was so kind, but just knowing that somewhere in the back of her mind, she was deciding if I was worth listening to or not was intense.”

The next step for the chosen few will be to move to Orlando from their various homes in time for the grand opening of the park on June 18. Despite the long process, the hosts seem uniformly thrilled at the opportunity. “Juan and I have been working so hard on this show. This is an honor we never dreamed would come.” says Rossi, 23 of Los Angeles.

The castle looks incredible from the outside and I honestly cannot wait until all of us get to roam it freely!

Aaron Mace, the world’s greatest site editor (or so I think), has given birth to his newest creation. After harassing him about getting a new look for the site and him insisting that “site editing requires time and patience, Juan!” he sat finally received a message from the “Mother Internet” and typed his little codes away.

This is what he gave us, the greatest SPC site I have yet seen. I am very proud to reveal it to all, specially since this weekend it will also play host to PotterTeeVee’s partnership with Wrockstock where all of the main-stage concerts will be broad-casted through the Internet waves, as well as SpinnersCast first LIVE! SpinnersCast loves Wizard Rock, and we all have some great friends in that lovely side of the community, so with much effort and hard work- this year, for the first time ever, ALL of the SPC host will be together, in one place, at the same time.

We are all very excited because we’re not going there to do anything else but hang out with each other, listen to some of our favorite Wizard Rock bands and have a great time! We will of course be uploading some videos onto our YouTube account, possibly even record a show while we’re there bust most importantly- we will be getting to see each other, and get a chance to interact with each other.

I personally will try my hardest to keep a blog for every day, but knowing what I’ve heard from the former attendees, it might be a little too hard

We’re counting down the days till Wrockstock and if you’re planning on attending, let us know! We’d love to know of any SPC listeners that are going. If you haven’t registered to go, I believe you can still try, but first you must secure a cabin/room/place to stay, and you can even find roommates by the wonderful use of the Wrockstock forums.

We are very excited for this, and cannot wait till November the 6th comes rolling around.

Now, three years later- we still produce a show like if it would be our first: with excitement, love and dedication… which is why we’d like to thank each and every one of you for continuing to listen to SpinnersCast. We love each and every one of you.

The meditation went well.  If you don’t know, I really love The HP Alliance, as well as Andrew Slack, and everything the Alliance stands for. So of course, using the themes of the Harry Potter series to have a discussion on a more spiritual level was most enlightening.

I spent that afternoon hanging out with my massive group of friends, and we went to the MuggleCast Meet-up, which was at five.  I enjoyed sitting in the corner, cracking irrelevant jokes with my friends, as well as feeling that absolute NEED to ask Andrew Sims to choose between an invisibility cloak or an invisibility Snuggie.

At around seven-thirty, me and a bunch of other girls all got ready for the ball, all getting into our dresses, fixing our hair and  doing our make-up.  Thank you sooooo much to Stephanie, who straightened my hair, which looked great with my tie, worn around me head Fresh Prince-style.

The ball was so great; I wished it could have gone on forever.  After all the generic dance party DJ music stuff was played, the Ministry of Magic preformed, which was amazing.  They are just too talented.

I stayed, hanging out with everybody until almost two in the morning, when I grudgingly, but exhaustedly, made my way back to my hotel room.

This morning was so melancholy; I had just had such a great time and met and bonded with so many people, it was just so sad to say goodbye.  Shout-outs to all  and I’ll see you at Infinitus 2010!!!

I spent the good majority of yesterday hanging out with new friends, walking around San Francisco and having random elevator parties.  Oh, did I mention that these new friends are from/associated with, Hogwarts Radio?  Well, yeah, they are.  So last night they had this Hogwarts Radio meet-up, which I attended.

Azkatraz is doing this Jail and Bail thing, where you can pay money to arrest people and if you are arrested you either have to volunteer or pay half of your bail money.  It all goes to charity, and it is just so funny to see people arrested. So we decided to arrest Terrance, main show host, afterwards.

Lena from the Butterbeer Experience also preformed her Fountain  of Fair Fortune wrock opera last night, which went well.  I had seen it during LeakyCon, but this one was definitely different; different people and added lines after the most recent Harry Potter movie (pincers: must I say anything more?)

Well, that’s all for now.  I’ll be posting later, which will probably be my last post, as I am leaving early tomorrow morning.

Well, after seeing HBP for the second time, I can say that I need to see this movie again…. when I am not completely exhausted.  Why in the world the HPEF decided to have this showing at eleven thirty is beyond me.  Also, after the movie was a Leaky Mug, which I too attended…. at three in the morning (six in the morning eastern time)!

Waiting for the movie, though, was quite fun.  There was supposed to be this line party thing from nine until eleven-thirty, but nothing really happened.  I, however, was perfectly content to hang out with my new friends.

The podcast went well, but everybody was just so lifeless.  I know I was glad to finally go back up to my room to get some well-needed sleep.

Well, today was quite long for me, having awoken at four thirty, eastern time, to catch an eight twenty-five flight to San Francisco all the way from New York.  I am here now, and am having an AWESOME time, even though not much has really started yet.

I’ve met some really awesome people already today, some friends, as well as wrockers Lena from The Butterbeer Experience and Erin from The House of Black, who are both great friends of the show.  Programming will not begin until Saturday, but I have a viewing of Half-Blood Prince to look forward to tonight and tomorrow there will be Wrock around the Rock, an aquatic night of wrock and fun!

Well guys, that says it! In honor of the Weasley twins and the month of April, we just couldn’t resist a harmless little prank.

We had an awful lot of fun trying to fool you all. And I know that we got a few of you!

Hey Guys!!!

Just got back from a pretty incredible day at Cartoon Network Studios in Burbank!

We started our meeting with talks about the episodes, we’re getting 6 to start and then we’ll go from there. Then we were talking about Merch and we are making some T-shirts and limited edition action figures of Juan, Kelly and Myself. Then we set about actually planning out all the episodes. It’s pretty easy since they are really short, unscripted episodes and we only need the voices and they do all the animation there. It’s pretty darn easy actually. We had sent in the pilot and that’s been animated already so we watched that, got some pretty amazing feedback and conferenced with Juan and Kelly on the subjects they discussed.

Then the fun happened! After planning out a couple episodes, we actually set about recording!!! Our first episode had none other than the man, the myth, the legend himself, Stephen King!!! We played a drinking game trivia challenge with him. Dude! That guy is brilliant. And he’s got a pretty awesome voice for the show. We were looking at some preliminary sketchwork of the art for the episode and, guys, this is going to be some of the coolest stuff you’ve ever seen! I promise. This is seriously going to be LEGIT! I can’t wait to put this on TV!

The next episode featured a return from the Lovely and talented Kim Newsome as well as the infamous Laura Mallory of Potter Book Burning fame. That debate got a little fiery. HAHAHA! She’s CRAZY!!! I loved it!

That was all we did today, just two episodes, but it was enough to really get my juices flowing. I’m so excited for this, guys. The big news we’re working on right now is getting Jo to come on for the last one. CN seems to be pretty confident that we can interview J.K. Rowling for the last episode since we just need to talk to her over the phone so if it happens I am going to be obscenely excited.

I’m working on getting some sketches for you to put on the site and hopefully I’ll have some by the end of the day.

Helloooo Listeners!!!!!!

Boy, I have hardly been able to contain myself all night!!!

So you know how we have been teasing you that we have some a big piece of information that we haven’t been able to share with you just yet? Well, I’ve finally been given the Go-ahead and I’m gonna spill the beans about SPC’s biggest and most exciting project to date!

So, as many of you know, our wonderful former producer and life-long friend of the show, Kim works for a certain news agency which is part of the media group founded by multi-millionaire mogul Ted Turner. Now, Mr. Turner’s company also owns quite a significant number of other major cable networks and news outlets (for more, see here.) including Cartoon Network and one of my sentimental favorite cartoons Captain Planet and the Planeteers.

Now, when Ms. Newsome was hired on with said media network, her past productions was brought to the attention of certain higher up officials who were quite impressed with the work she had done, specifically the old SpinnersCast Animated Webisodes. Do you remember those? We’re talking really really old “live” podcasts which were animated over for viewing pleasure and which aired in the first ten episodes but ended up being just a little too much work for our poor fledgling podcast to put out on a regular basis. Anywho, a certain industry official loved the concept of a “live-action cartoon” and thought that our format could be marketable for their new line up. I’ve been having meetings with Cartoon Network out here in Burbank for the past few months and they just decided to pick our lovely little SpinnersCast up for a trial run to air on Thursday nights as part of Adult Swim!

That’s right!!! The official SpinnersCast Cartoon will be featured in the new Thursday night Line Up on Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim!!!!!!!

You will get to watch 15 minutes of me, Juan, Aaron, Kelly, and quite a few other special guests every Thursday night for the next 6-10 weeks!!!!!!

Now, the only catch right now is that it’s on a little bit late at night (12:30-12:45am/11:30-11:45 Central) so our younger listeners will have to TiVo the first episode (which airs next Thursday, April 9th on Cartoon Network). I had been personally waiting for confirmation from Cartoon Network as to what I could post on the site as a short preview of what’s to come. While I’m waiting on getting a solid approved clip, they did tell me that I can share with you some of what’s to come and who some of our special guests will be.

Which I will do… In the Morning!

Sorry guys, I have a meeting in the morning with CN in Burbank to hammer out some final peculiars and when that is done, I can come home and update more of that! We’re actually talking about the promo material and (possibly most exciting for me) ACTION FIGURES!!! But until then, I hope you’ll stick with us here and I am just honestly so flipping excited about this all you have no idea!!!!!

For those of you who care what happened to us, I’m going to tell you, if you don’t, stop reading. Kim Newsome (our old beloved producer/host/leader) owned the domain spinnerscast.com along with the hosting. When the time ran out on those, we had still not transferred them to our own account and they went *poof*. That means almost everything: the website, the forum, the gallery, the posts on the website, etc. We had to start the SPC website back from scratch which took awhile seeing as how we didn’t have the money to purchase the hosting (it costs a bit). The domain spinnerscast.COM was taken up by some evil ad people (See here), so we had to buy a new domain. Since spinnerscast.CO.UK was pretty awesome, we bought it. I then had to take all the episodes and show notes we had (still looking for some) and post them on the website…after I made it of course. That whole process took about 3-4 weeks, since I’m a slacker a lot of the time, and is still under-going the final touches.

So here we are now, the site’s done, all of the episodes are posted, and everyone’s happy. Now the only thing I have to do is tell you how to get the show. We have a new feed, we’re working on re-entering ourselves into iTunes, and yes you have to resubscribe. (The link’s at the top of the page).

We will of course be adding more to the website as time progresses, but for now, deal with whatchya got.

I hope you’re as excited as we are for SPC to be back in full swing!
