Azkatraz 2009: Day Numero Uno
Hey all, it is Nicole, reporting from Azkatraz!
Well, today was quite long for me, having awoken at four thirty, eastern time, to catch an eight twenty-five flight to San Francisco all the way from New York. I am here now, and am having an AWESOME time, even though not much has really started yet.
I’ve met some really awesome people already today, some friends, we well as wrockers Lena from The Butterbeer Experience and Erin from The House of Black, who are both great friends of the show. Programming will not begin until Saturday, but I have a viewing of Half-Blood Prince to look forward to tonight and tomorrow there will be Wrock around the Rock, an aquatic night of wrock and fun!
So until next post, goodbye. Stay awesome people!

Azkatraz: Movie and Podcast
I’ve been meeting soooo many people here and the conference has barely begun! And, on top of that, I have met so many Aussies, which is really awesome. So, shout-out to all you really awesome Aussies here at AZ!
Well, after seeing HBP for the second time, I can say that I need to see this movie again…. when I am not completely exhausted. Why in the world the HPEF decided to have this showing at eleven thirty is beyond me. Also, after the movie was a Leaky Mug, which I too attended…. at three in the morning (six in the morning eastern time)!
Waiting for the movie, though, was quite fun. There was supposed to be this line party thing from nine until eleven-thirty, but nothing really happened. I, however, was perfectly content to hang out with my new friends.
The podcast went well, but everybody was just so lifeless. I know I was glad to finally go back up to my room to get some well-needed sleep.
Until next time,
-Nicole
Azkatraz: Wrock around the Rock
Okay, so I just came back from Wrock around the Rock and it was AWESOME!!! House of Black, The Whomping Willows, The Ministry of Magic, and The Remus Lupins played. I love wrock. Not even “like” or “its okay”, but I love wrock, and I love wrockers, even if I don’t know every band and every song. So, pretty much, I spent the entire time on that boat making my way toward the front of the crowd, letting the highly-amplified music destroy my hearing.
My voice is now dead, and truthfully, I can’t describe this night as anything other than AWESOMEEEE.
So people, I’ll be reporting to you later to inform you all of what is going on here, like tomorrow morning Andrew Slack will be doing a presentation which I am most definitely not going to miss!

Azkatraz: Saturday
Yesterday morning I awoke super early to get ready for this plenary session Andrew Slack of the HP Alliance was doing. I was looking forward to this because I am friends with Andrew and I love to hear what he has to say. Of course, the amount of time he was given was not even close to the amount truly needed to discuss changing the entire world, but really, what is one to do?
I spent the good majority of yesterday hanging out with new friends, walking around San Francisco and having random elevator parties. Oh, did I mention that these new friends are from/associated with, Hogwarts Radio? Well, yeah, they are. So last night they had this Hogwarts Radio meet-up, which I attended.
Azkatraz is doing this Jail and Bail thing, where you can pay money to arrest people and if you are arrested you either have to volunteer or pay half of your bail money. It all goes to charity, and it is just so funny to see people arrested. So we decided to arrest Terrance, main show host, afterwards.
Lena from the Butterbeer Experience also preformed her Fountain of Fair Fortune wrock opera last night, which went well. I had seen it during LeakyCon, but this one was definitely different; different people and added lines after the most recent Harry Potter movie (pincers: must I say anything more?)
Well, that’s all for now. I’ll be posting later, which will probably be my last post, as I am leaving early tomorrow morning.
So goodbye for now!
-Nicole
